Apple care disaster

Maybe I’ll get more help here than I’ve gotten from Apple the past couple days... long story short is that my iPhone X stopped working and the replacement that Apple sent me is a locked phone whenever my original device was unlocked...

Problem is that whenever I originally purchased I had ATT, so that’s who they assumed I still had and sent me an ATT locked device. I now have VZW so I cannot activate my phone.

I’ve spoken with multiple people at Apple and each one has been more useless. I’m blown away at this entire situation and the way Apple has handled it. I’ve been without a phone since last Tuesday. Does anyone have advice on how to get this phone unlocked?




This is where I currently stand.. zero resolution and zero time frame.





ETA: TIL that apple customer service is complete trash. What was going to take them days to resolve was figured out by TD In less than an hour.

Did you ask Verizon about it? Maybe they'll just swap it out

I know they don’t make it easy but I’m pretty sure all of the carriers have been forced into allowing unlocking. If the phone is tied to AT&T that’s where you should be looking. Google unlocking AT&T iPhone X.

Make a Genius Bar appointment at the closest store and very politely explain the issue. They should be able to address this for you.

Wow. Did a quick search and ATT has an unlock portal that’s unlocked me in 2 minutes. Apple customer service is a joke. I should have made this thread two days ago
