I have a friend who swears by it. He opened it up and it came with live TV, a big library of video on demand, etc.

Thousands and thousands of stations. All he had to do was pay for the box and it was ready to go.

Here’s a YT video I found and it matches what my friend explained

Here’s their website

I'd just subscribe to a good IPTV provider.

Hook that or any of the massive number of Android boxes sold primarily to facilitate the theft of IP and then watch the internet traffic it produces. It would be easier just to email Xi Jinping your CC numbers.

If the US follows the UK and Italy the "handful" of IPTV users that steal using it (I am sure you are not one of the tiny number) are potentially going to regret the choice.

The box will work and will provide the services you listed but there is no guarantee of the length of that service, either due to the box itself failing or the service disappearing. The price is high because you are basically prepaying for the IPTV service, the box itself is cheap.

That being said I personally know of people with similar boxes (SuperBox Etc.) that have had theirs for years, so it definitely paid off for them.

So it is a gamble.

You can get the same service for much less by using your own streaming box with an IPTV subscription of your choice. You can get a 1 year 1 stream subscription with all of the thousands of channels and VOD for $25-30 on Alibaba. At that price you can get a couple of different services to have a backup in case of downtime or buffering or to watch more than one thing at once. Also, if the service disappears it is no big loss like spending a couple of hundred on a preconfigured box.

ETA: Another advantage of getting your own service is that it isn't tied to your box. You can watch it on all of your devices including your phone. How many you can use simultaneously depends on how many streams your plan has.

Got any links to this?

All I see is the usual fear mongering but no real action. Has anyone been prosecuted for streaming anything? All I see are attempts to shut down the sellers and for every one they shut down multiple replacements pop up.

They are not coming after streamers, only providers if it ever happens. Part of the 5k page Covid bill in 2019 had provisions for copyright material.

Read paragraph 3 in this link with quotes from a senator.

Yep, that link says it all. They go after the providers but there is too much money involved so there are more everyday.

The boxes like the OP talked about are sold all over Ebay and have been for years. Superbox has been in business for 5 years.

They make press releases that sound like the FBI is pounding on doors to try to scare people.
