Mine works great, but my router is almost directly upstairs from it.

The only issue is trying to cover motion in the front yard without picking up every passing car on the street.

I never knew my front porch was the neighborhood cat(s) hook up spot until I got the ring.
I just reviewed my front porch video from the last 30 days. Here are the results:

Animal -- # of visits
=====================
Cat -- 20
Dog -- 2
Bird -- 1
Squirrel -- 1

Yes, it was ok but we had several issues. Most especially the latency when you go to view the current motion alert.

We had the doorbell and two floodlight cams. We have since switched to the Nest products and we will never looks back. So much smoother, higher quality, and cool features that ring will never have (familiar faces, person alert, package left/picked up alert, etc)

I always wonder what people think the cops are going to do with this footage in a theft case. Seems like they have a lot bigger issues to deal with than stolen packages.

How do these cameras work if someone committing a crime on camera is wearing a mask and long sleeves? How do you identify this person?

It is probably a rare occasion that surveillance video of any kind results in a positive ID and arrest, but that doesn't really matter so much. It's more about having evidence that something was stolen for refund or insurance purposes, deterrence, peace of mind, etc.

If a porch pirate sees a house with a camera and one without, which is he more likely to steal a package from? And if he's wearing a mask around the hood, well that's shady as frick and maybe even more risky.

If there's a pattern of theft in an area, the police are likely to bump up patrols even if they don't catch anyone. That usually reduces crime.

And it's really nice to be able to answer the door without getting up, or without even being home. It's nice knowing if it's a visitor, a delivery person, or a salesperson before answering the door yourself.

Just weird I just got off the phone with Ring Support and I now know to go to Device Health and it’s running 72-77 RSSI speed which isn’t very good she said. She was able to check the speeds that I had initially last Tuesday when I hooked it up and it was closer to 60-65 which lower is better I’m told.
Also checked my Spectrum internet speed and I’m currently around 350down 20up but she suggested buying an “extender” for WiFi since over 30 feet away and Stone exterior if I wasn’t going to manually wire connect the device.

Logitech has one. Link is Apple just because they announced as it has homekit and secure video support I think. You can get it from Logitech as well.

I think this is an issue with people not changing their passwords from the default. It's not hacking, per se.
