First off, there is no place on their website to remove or de-select the option on a premium sports package. The sport’s package I am referring to is the NHL center Ice package. Last year, at the end of the season, I opted to not renew the package, and when I realize I couldn’t do it myself, by a simple click on the website, I called them asking them to remove it from my package. I was going to subscribe to an easier viewing option and I didn’t want to be surprised with another charge.

Fast forward to 2021, around January, I received another 1st installment of 4 charges to my bill for the center ice package. I then called and spoke with a rep who said he took care of the problem and the charge would be reversed on my next bill. My next bill comes along and I was billed again. This happened with each charge until recently when the 4th charge showed up on my bill. I called each time and got the same result. If, on the next bill, I am not credited for the entire 165 dollar amount, I will be calling them again.

The only reason I have directv is because my internet service is so terrible, streaming services are not a great option for me. I have pre ordered Starlink in the hopes I can move on from directv.

Has anyone else had this problem with Directv and, if so, how did you resolve it? I will say that with each call, I have asked to speak to someone in higher management but, as far as I know, they could have transferred me to the schmuck in the cubicle right next to him..

No, I called them to get rid of NFL Sunday ticket when our free promo ended. They took it off pretty quickly. That was several years ago.

Directv customer service is awful and expect to spend at least 90 minutes of your day talking to them on the phone. They will likely not help you after first call, which will prompt another 90 min call.

Got rid of it completely 6 months or so ago. Best decision I ever made. It’s way too expensive and there’s too many other options these days to pay that much. They do call me once a week asking me to get it again and they’ll give me 50% off for 12 months.

Try messaging them on twitter. Couldnt get any credits talking to retention when old ones rolled off last month. Messaged them on twitter and got $65/month off. Much easier than being on the phone!

Prudent strategy is to request confirmation correspondence when you cancel something, anything. Think about how many jackwagons call halfway through a season trying to make this claim just to avoid the fees.

Yeah, I get what you’re saying but when I call to cancel at the end of the 2020 season, told it was removed, only to find out it wasn’t and I was charged at the beginning of the 2021 season is frustrating. Even when I called in January to tell them the issue, they tell me I am no longer going to be charged and a credit will show on my account. To verify that it was cancelled, I tuned in to one of the channels and saw that I wasn’t subscribed. It gave me comfort in knowing they took the action needed but subsequent bills proved I was wrong.
