Calling DDG another Google is overstating it. They didn't disclose that using Bing as their search engine required them to not block Microsoft tracking. They got called out on it and were able to get changes to their deal with Microsoft and now block Microsoft too.

It has taken me 10+ years to get off of Microsoft completely. I still have to use their crap for a few specific things at work.
Google should be busted up by the feds like AT&T. No one is getting off of Google.

The reason a lot of MS stuff didn't "work" seamlessly was precisely because of the FTC consent decree that lasted for 20 years. They are not a Google/Meta level offender.
The only place I still need a Google product in is Google Maps in Japan, because it displays location names in the local language and in English. Otherwise, it was easy to dump them 15+ years ago. LINK / How far you wanna take it is up to you.
