AI chatbots vs. Google search timetable

How many years do you think it will be before the majority of Americans on the internet are asking an AI chatbot for random information (baked chicken recipe, capital of Kansas, etc.) instead of performing a Google search.
In my uneducated opinion I think that it will be about e 3 years from now. Life happens fast sometimes.

Google and Microsoft are already integrating AI results with the standard search results and are putting them at the top of the page in many instances. So it's already happening even if you go to Google to "search the web".
Samsung just released an integration with Google AI on their latest phone, circle anything on the screen leads to a visual Google search. Also, iOS18, which should come out in the fall, is expected to have AI finally built into Siri.
If AI Siri actually works that will cause a big shift to AI for the types of searches you mentioned. You don't have to install or pay anything extra and get an AI chatbot out of the box.
We are still several years away from this being close to a finished product, but AI will continue to become more and more useful and encroach on more domains every day.

Did I mention I threw all my Alexas in the trash and set up my new house doorbell and cameras on a local networked storage Device?
shite gets scarier every day. And yes I'm well aware my phones are listening to me anyway.

Alot of easy stuff can be done today. But a certain percentage of search requires a visual element.

It's scary to the point that some days I think I'm losing my damn mind b/c I'm seeing ads for things I've thought about.

Bing search already incorporates AI and does give you relative info depending on the search inquiry. You search how to make "mac n cheese" and it will garner results on how to do it, but, there will be Google-type results mixed in.
