Any suggestions or good prices for Memorial Day wknd. Looking for a good tv to hang outside want to spend $1500 or less. It’ll be in a cover area so not full light. Just want something that won’t have too much glare on it.

Sony 900E or you could get a TCL for much less.

Personally, I’m buying the cheapest on I can find with the features I want. Looks like the TCL is on sale at Best Buy.

65” TCL

Would probably do everything you want it to.

Yeah I have an lg c7 oled in my living room, which for $1500 I can get a 55” oled but idk if that’s a little crazy to put outside... also rather 65”. Going to go to bestbuy or Costco see some in person today. Was going to go the tcl or Vizio route originally, but then started seeing these Samsung and lg models on sale for the same price. That Sony 900 also keeps popping up.. like I said it’s under a covered patio so not super bright but light does get in, so possible glare. I want it to look good watching football and baseball on.

Since its for outside, I chose a TCL. Its hung in a screened in patio, high on the wall, so no brightness issues. It has been there for a year, survived a summer and two snowfalls just outside the screen. No issues at all. It's tied to WiFi, so all the apps and YouTube TV are rocking it.

Don’t know the brightness rating, but it will be about 20’ into a screened in patio. It will never see direct sublight, so for me, I can’t really go wrong.

What are the major differences from between the 4 series and 6 series TCLs? Also, whats the reasoning for not wanting a TCL indoors? Moving into a new home in a few weeks and need to upgrade my TVs. I was looking at the TCL for the living room.

Go to rtings.com and compare them. I think the main difference is probably the HDR abilities and wider color gamut for the 6 series. And there’s nothing wrong with a TCL indoors, they have been very good bang for your buck TVs. But if you’re willing to spend a little money their are far better choices out there

Ended up getting the Samsung MU8500 65” at Best Buy just in time to watch tigers win today. It was the last one of last years model, got it for $999. I usually don’t get the warranty but for $150 and five years if it gets wet outside hard to beat. It’s a curved model but looks pretty decent outside, happy with the purchase.
All the Sony 900e were sold out at Best Buy locally in Br and Lafayette.

I didn't know their warranty would cover water damage. May be worth adding on my next outdoor purchase.

You might want to read the fine print on that warranty. Best Buy has really hampered down over the years on what all their warranty services cover. I’ll be very shocked to find out that water damage really is covered. If it is indeed covered, then you made a wise move only paying $150 for the coverage. I’ve come to realize that a lot of those salespersons just talk out of their asses so it would seem that they know everything there is to know about the products that you inquire about. I’ve learned to do some research even after talking to one of them, and it has paid off. This includes their protection plans.

Man for an outdoor I went as cheap as possible. There are 4K shite brands out there for $450ish. Sceptre 65” is what I bought.

Money I saved there I threw a 75” Sony X900F upstairs.

My theory is as long as it’s decent and gives me a 3-4+ years I’m good. Anything $1k and above I was going to be pissed if something happened to it.

Just my 2 cents.

Edit: Just realized you already made a decision lol.
