yea i switched back to PLA and its printing fine. I had the same issue with PLA at one point and figured out the filament wrapped on itself in the spool and couldnt pull.

checked that with PETG and i dont think that was the issue. once i get the rest of my mods printed im going to put the PETG back on and trouble shoot it over a few evenings.

We should start a 3d printing thread and keep all the info in there.

I’ve been in the 3D printing manufacturing business since 2012. So far I have been involved in designing 4 machines. My company is now going to completely focus on 3D modeling. With this decision there are a ton of parts for machines that I am selling for less than cost.
We are also going to be putting out the files for our latest 3D printer. (More to come on that through YouTube.)
But if you are interested In spare parts or wanting to build your own you can look here

Please forgive the coming off as spam. That is not my intent. I also have links up on eBay well.
Thanks

Seems like a big pivot to go from manufacturing to software dev. Can't imagine the layoffs. Anyway, I got my Ender 3 running eSun PLA so perfectly right now. Got a spool of eSun PETG on the way to mess around with this weekend. Probably gonna hold off on anymore upgrades for now since it's running so good. When I'm ready to move onto ABS/Nylon/Polycarbonate I'll prob be looking to swap out the mainboard to accommodate an all metal hotend and figure out building a heated enclosure.

It isn’t really. We have always done 3D modeling and prototyping. The thing is was why buy a machine when we could build our own? And then we could sell it. But I’m business I’ve learned you cannot do it all. I am good at building machines from scratch and I like it. But I excel at 3D modeling and I love it.
You learn and you pivot in business.
Anyway I have not use tpu ir nylon yet. I do have some samples. I’ve used abs and I just don’t like it. Pla seems to do everything I have ever needed.

Gotcha, I guess when you said manufacturing I was thinking a company that has a lot of machinery assets for manufacturing their widget and a majority laborer workforce. Sounds like this is a smaller operation.

Definitely smaller sir. We have used other businesses to assist. There is a Local Metal company who does the metal work. Another local company who does the powder coating. The rest is our work, or was our work. You don’t need a massive warehouse to be a manufacturer for 3D printers. Well for small desktop machines anyway.
I’ll be putting up the “build your own 3D printer from scratch “ soon on YouTube.
