Looking for a new laptop. I'm really intrigued by these. Which one do you recommend. Budget is around 700-800. Best buy has everything marked way down right now, so I figure it's the perfect time to get one. I mainly use it for browsing and streaming, occasionally using word. I've been looking at the Lenovo 740 and 940, also a couple hps.

I have used and liked the surface line since they came out. I have 4 now between me and my employees. 2 of them running dual 32" monitors off of the dock.
I also use it in the field to mark up blueprints and take notes. it has replaced pen and paper for me by about 75%

I just bought the Lenovo C740 (15") for my dad.
Will get it in a few days.

This is the one. You probably don't need the one with the keypad though. It has really great reviews.
I have a Surface Book 2 (15") as my main PC and absolutely love it. Mostly because of the keyboard alone, but these are super expensive. I highly recommend Lenovo, because I typically love their keyboards as well. Dell tends to have shallows keys and they hurt my fingers to type on. (Maybe that's just me though.)
My favorite thing on any laptop is a touchscreen. I can't recommend it enough. I love scrolling through threads using the touchscreen. It's so much quicker. Also, the ability to pinch to zoom to see stuff better is awesome.

I wish they made those same specs, but with the 13 or 14 inch screen.

I found this Lenovo that I'm looking st Lenovo 940, but now I'm also interested in the surfaces. Would a surface pro 7 make a good laptop/tablet or is it more of just a tablet? Can you hook those up to your tv?

I think you will really like that one.
The sound bar gets a lot of love. I would have gotten that one as well, but really needed a 15". And the 15" is way more model for that model.
Surface stuff is nice, but they don't just fold into a tablet. You either have to detach them separately or have a separate keyboard. I like the idea of the Lenovo style, because you can easily swing into different modes. Everything stays attached.
However, I do have the Surface Book 2 and never even use the detach mode. I just love the screen ratio, battery life, and keyboard that much on it. However, it's so pricey.
I am interested in how you like the C940, so update back if you don't mind.

Will do. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but I shouldn't need another laptop for a while now.
