And why are they having trouble scoring goals with the playmakers on that team?

So glad are owners saw through him and went with Rodgers... Not saying he cant be a good manager, but I think he would have been better served getting out of the EPL for awhile...

(for the record, I would have taken him this summer)

You weren't the only one. I also agree that he can be good, but that was a TERRIBLE idea to hire him after the nonsense at Chelsea. Seriously, they hired a guy that was fired for leading his team to a lower finish with better players. How did they think he was going to succeed there?

He's probably a great interview. He's very astute about the game, and is one of the new generation of managers who is really dialed into the data and tries to apply it in novel ways. His implementation is suspect, especially in a physical league like the EPL though. He probably needs more seasoning, and should have stayed at Porto a season or two longer.

High pressure systems like AVB's are going to be more prevalent in the coming years, but there will always be a place for big, physical teams who defend with a deep line and play on the break. For high pressure systems to really work, you need ball retention and team pressing from front to back. It's a difficult system to sell to the players (especially attackers), as so much of their energy without the ball is spent closing down their man.

I think they are missing Dembele in the middle. In the games I've seen the wingers and forward want to play fast and the CAM play is so slow (Dempsey and Sig).

In my opinion, the jury is still out on AVB, but I'm growing less and less patient.

I know every team deals with injurys but I really wish some players would get back. Having Dembele out for a while, and Parker, Kaboul, and BAE out all season so far is definently not helping

No Van de Vaart as well. Sigurdsson is a good player, not on that level as of yet.
