world rankings.... Uruguay up to #3!

I saw a jersey today as I was walking back from the gym.
10 Diego Forlan's Turkish club jersey.
So I decided to see how he was doing, and how Uruguay was doing.
looking at the world rankings, I observe that Uruguay has moved up to #3. wow. I keep wondering if their older players will still have "it" for the next world cup, but it seems that their younger stars are developing, doing really well on their pro teams.
I have to remind myself that the cycle of life, death, rebirth is inevitable.

Any poll that had the US as one of the top 5 best in the world just prior to the 2006 WC is one that I pay little to no attention to.

you are right. I just looked at Forlan's pic, and it was another team.

They aren't accurate, but they do determine seeding for meaningful tournaments, so they absolutely do mean something to you.
