I dont know about that, the US is a rising star in international soccer, but I dont know if they are a big enough power house team to win a WC before england wins again. Hey maybe if we would pump more money into the program they could. Soccer is only the fast growing sport in the US

England isn't winning one any time soon.

Only way England wins is if they host one.

FACT

Soccernomics actually has a fascinating chapter on England soccer.

And it will be a while before they can host one again.

There's no reason to think England will do it first. Their current players aren't good enough and there's no reason to think they're going to get a whole lot better.

I think within the next 3 World Cups we'll at least be in a semi-final

I wouldn't think we would be able to next time. I'd think we'd have a shot by 2018 or 2022, but I'm not trusting any tournament held in Russia or Qatar.

The tournament being held in Brazil is a good thing for us because it's a bad thing for European countries.

If we get in a group like in the last cup we have a good shot as long as we don't get stuck playing Ghana again

We're screwed if we go up against a Conmebol team.

I think Skeletor has one win against a South American team.

Carroll, Wilshere, Albrighton, Downing and Walcott are promising players, but England's player development is miles behind Spain, France and Germany (not including CONMEBOL countries). Kids in England also play in shite weather conditions because the FA doesn't believe that football can be a summer sport. Our youth system is currently expanding and improving with MLS academies. England needs to overhaul its system in order to remain competitive internationally.

England also remains tactically behind its international rivals. The 4-4-2 is a dying formation in the modern game, but soooo many English managers employ it.
