Agreed. SAF knew the deficiencies in his team and how to paper over the cracks. Last year's team concentrated on moving the ball quickly from the back through midfield and into the feet of the front men who were the team's greatest asset. Moyes has shown no recognition of how to develop attacking tactics to smoothe over some of the many deficiencies in the side. The injuries to RVP and Rooney certainly haven't helped. The need for possession in the current system has led to the ball being moved from side to side and ending up wide because meaningful possession in the in the center of the field has been difficult with the current personnel. The ball gets pumped back in the box where opposing defenses are camped out waiting. Nothing changes for 90+ minutes. An aging defense has proved slow in handling quick counterattacks and tracking players through the box. This has led to some easy goals for weaker teams enjoying few chances during the course of a game. Hence,
