Don’t need to do anything differently than they did last year, which was focusing on winning out in EPL and advancing in champions. Both should take precedence over FA, just as they did last year.

If he puts all his eggs on going unbeaten the potential for the champions league to suffer is real

Squad depth is an issue

Something of those two will have to take a back seat

Well Liverpool canned King Kenny after winning the League Cup and playing in the FA Cup final, because he finished 8th in the EPL.

Btw, was he really capped for that? Or for being 14th in the league in week twelve?

Why? We won the champions league doing that exact thing last year, so I don’t get your concern.

Both. Spurs haven’t won a trophy since I was in high school (2008).

People talk shite about the Carabao cup and yeah, it’s a rink dink competition but even winning that is something nice to cling to from a season.

The only people who talk down a competition or trophy are the people who didn’t win it. It’s like this every year.

That being said, I don’t care about the FA Cup or the League Cup. I care about the EPL and the Champions League. And while I understand SCH and others viewpoint, it seems a vestige of a bygone era. Like the NIT. It’s there. If we are playing for nothing else sure go for it. But I don’t feel I have any reason to make it important. And I don’t feel it’s my fault. It’s what I’ve picked up from the whole soccer community. And being told that I should care by guys like SCH makes me care less.
This is pretty much exactly how I feel

I understand the significance to it, especially to the smaller clubs, but right now we have bigger fish to fry. And just because it's not quite on the back burner like the NIT is, I just don't see it making a comeback as much as some people would like for it to just because of it's history.

With meaning to I think you just unconsciously made my point.

This statement is not true for the league or for European football. Only domestic cups.

And the flip side of this is, “The only people who talk UP a competition or trophy are the people who DID win it.”

Liverpool didn’t win the league unbeaten last year

So no it’s not the same thing

We are talking about effort given in EPL, and it’s effect on champions league. We gave 100% effort in both last year, so why not again?

Teams who can and do win much bigger things talk smaller things down and don’t take them as serious.

So nothing had to take a back seat for Jose? Seems like a contradiction to your other post.

You suck a reading comprehension

Jose would put at a full first squad in the league cup on the regular

He goes out to win every competition to the max

I like Jose a lot as a person, at least his public facing persona, i just wish he could get with the times already. Reminds me of how I felt about Les.

Did they suffer because of it? Did EPL or Champions have to take a back seat?

well he had squad depth

unlike Liverpool

you really can't put two and two together

You are trying to combine separate arguments and points and failing at it pretty bad.

I take it you didn't watch peak Jose....

Did LFC not have squad depth last year?

Is this a serious question

90% of the Liverpool fans here will say squad depth is still an issue

Lack of squad depth helped contribute to City over taking them in the EPL last year

Squad depth is why City go balls to the wall in all four comps and its the reason Liverpool have to play musical chairs in only two.

If they want to keep the unbeaten season alive after clinching in April while still being in Europe that squad will be pushed to its limits. Trying to compare that to last season is absurd.

Explain to me the major difference:

2019: In order to win the EPL with one loss, LFC had to go 100% + LFC was still in Europe.

2020: In order to win the EPL with no losses, LFC has to go 100% + LFC is still in Europe.

In 2019 we did not have the CWC to deal with and we bounced out of the FA Cup in the 3rd round. Squad depth was an issue.

In 2020 we played the CWC and as of February are still: in the CL, in the FA Cup, trying to go undefeated in the PL. Squad depth is still an issue.
