What I mean is countinho scored one goal while ozil helped his team score two. When Liverpool get scored on they will need more than wonder goal. They will need a player who can help his team score goals.

Coutinho is overrated. He is good, not great.

WTF does that mean?

Completed 54/55 passes, completed 36/37 passes in Crystal Palace's final 3rd, created 5 chances, and had one assist.

injury record

Ozil has only missed like more than 3 games at a time in his entire career like twice.

age

You act like 26 is over the hill. Ozil with his technical ability and ability to find space will be able to play at a high level for a long time.

ability to win games on his own.

3 lucky belters from long range >>>>>>>>>> Ozil's ability to dictate games and create chances. We get it.

Ozil coming back from injury the last two years is why Arsenal finished fourth and third and won 2 FA Cups. He has the best player in the EPL from February on last season. Fabregas faded as usual, Costa was hurt and Aguero was hurt. Yaya never recovered from the African Competition.

Ozil was absurdly good yesterday, absurdly good.

ETA: I really like Coutinho, but they really aren't comparable players. Ozil is a glider always one move ahead Cou is more of an instant impact guy.

Id take Ozil over Coutinho at this point but saying Phil isn't good is inexplicable.

OP I really don't know what to tell you. Watch some more soccer.

Haha it's all good. It's a silly comparison IMO, so you're right. But to say he isn't good reeks of naivety.

Yeah no clue. I mean he's a defense first kind of guy. Maybe that's why? Phil is a great presser though.

I take Coutinho based on injury record, age, price and ability to win games on his own.

If you mean by ability to win games on his own scoring goals when the team has played extremely terribly, then Ozil hasn't done that. But he's played many games where has been the key cog, Dortmund away, Napoli at home, Stoke at home, Southampton away, Cardiff away, Liverpool at home and many more. There are numerous other examples, but we didn't win some of those games despite Ozil playing out of his mind because we are horrible at finishing.

Ozil does little things to keep the offense ticking. He can control the game from closer to goal than any playmaker since Zidane. He moves into space, he supports the ballcarrier by moving toward him when making a pass, he makes dummy runs, and he delivers a fantastic final ball. It's no coincidence that whenever Ozil is fit and firing, Arsenal go on a streak of results, and our struggles coincide with his injury struggles.

Cazorla is a better player than Coutinho, but doesn't get nearly the praise because Coutinho scores flashy goals. Cazorla's performance against Man City was a better 90 minute performance both offensively and defensively than I've seen Coutinho put together, but no one talks about it because Cazorla doesn't score highlight reel goals. Coutinho is closer to Cazorla's level than Ozil's to be quite honest, and from a production point of view, Cazorla has been the better buy.

People might say that because Coutinho seems obsessed with shooting. He can create problems for teams, and he certainly has, but scoring long range goals late in games gives him a slightly undeserved reputation (seeing as he was in the team of the year) with regard to his actual production, which is decent enough.

Ozil is the type of player that makes the game look so easy. There aren't many of those. He is on another level as a playmaker and a chance creator. The little things are what makes him so great.

Show me a better assist, show me a better number 10. You can't.

I feel like Coutinho is an above average player, but he seems to step up and makes some great shots/passes when Pool need someone to. He isn't always as good as many make him out to be though.

I think Coutinho has better close control and dribbling ability than Ozil, but as an overall playmaker, he's not on his level yet..

Ozil also has more talent around him.. When Coutinho had Studge, Luis and Raheem playing around him, he was fantastic... last year he had shite and still did well..

I agree that he likes to shoot a little too much for my taste, but atleast they are starting to go in more..

Like it's been mentioned before, it's two very different questions... whether he's as good as one of the best #10's in the world or if he is just good (which is ridiculous)..

Basically the same assist. Torres did the same thing to Gerrard back in 08ish.

Don't go into a skills competition. If there's one thing they're both ridiculous at, its skills.

Ozil is more consistent and the better overall player, but for the money and his age, Coutinho has been nothing short of phenomenal.

I love how no one has addressed that he cost 8M.

Then again, the OP thinks Voldermort is a better player so frick this thread honestly.
