As I found out the other day, its an attempt to juggle both hemispheres. That said, we'll be wishing we had this time slot over the next 8 years. I hate that because the WC is obviously taking off in the US and I wouldn't be surprised if we see a huge drop off over the next 2 World Cups.

Maybe they will tape delay it like the Olympics.

Did that in Baghdad in 2006. Ran an 18k in Baghdad in 2011 at 8 am when it was already 100 degrees in June. Wouldn't recommend it.
