I don't know which country has more promising stars that stall out: Russia or Turkey.

Very similar soccer nations in that their leagues have enough money to keep them at home, which isn't necessarily a good thing.

Great national anthem though.

Putin is one of the few guys out there I hate more than Jurgen though

Turan is the one guy who panned out big time. Gokhan Gonul is also really legit even though he is too injury prone to be a superstar.

The post 2002 generation (anyone after Emre and Basturk) has been so disappointing. Tuncay fell off the face of the earth once he left Middlesbrough and is now in fricking India. Nuri Sahin has really failed to live up to the hype. Gokhan Tore is the Turkish Xavier Carter. Caner left Moscow and is getting cuckolded by an ugly bitch. And then there are the guys who no one outside of Turkey has even heard of.

And I could name 20 Russians who could play in a top league if it wasn't financially more sensible to stay home.

We'll periscope it.

To be honest, Mr. Personality and myself should probably do an official TD Soccer Board podcast.

Well, he was only 21. He and Caner both came to Russia way too young, when they were still prospects. They definitely didn't pan out, but too much was expected of them.

Also, they are both fricking morons, so I am sure the money didn't help them focus. I mean Tore get shot last year for fricking some guy's girlfriend. And Caner is a train wreck, too. I am amazed Gokdeniz has done as well as he has, but he shouldn't be even allowed to play the sport professionally considering his mob ties and match fixing that would have gotten him banned for life in any Western European country.

With the Russians, a lot of them flame out a bit. Bilyaletdinov, Pogrebnyak, Beschasnykh. Even Akinfeev hasn't become a top 10 goalkeeper like he was projected to be as such a young starter.

Are you a Turk?

I love Gokdeniz, and Western Europe doesn't set the standard just so you know. English, French, German assholes better not look down on our people.
