Pretty much played until i got into LSU. Knew i was never going to do anything with soccer again, so i quit playing competitive soccer and played rec for one year before leaving for BR.

It took over my life when I played. usually playing 5 days a week and the other two days i would be playing with friends. Not to mention driving 6+ hours sometimes just to play a league game.

Played intramural every year at LSU, but never played enough so like others got fat and lazy. Was playing indoor and getting into shape until i moved and now i dont play and im getting fat again.

Forget that nonsense.

Sign up with BRSA, and ask them to put you on a team in the lowest division. I guarantee that there's a team that needs players NOW.

There are also PLENTY of players in indoor that have never played before (or played very little.)

We had a guy that joined our over-30 team at 32, and had never played an organized game of soccer in his life (only pickup games.) He's been with us three years (six seasons) and he's doing great.

Yea. I don't currently get cash (our owner takes care of us in other ways) but there are teams shelling out tons of money for players and flying pros in from Honduras for the playoffs. The winner of the league got 30k last year.

An MLS team in NOLA with a half Honduran team would be so clutch.

It is like $3-4 to get in. Then they sell beer and Honduran food. Regular season is more than 20 weeks then you have a 6-8 week playoff.

I've played since I was 5 or 6ish...didn't get on a select team until I was 13, and even at that, it wasn't a very good select team (Houma Blackhawks). Also played for Vandebilt Catholic from my freshman - senior years, though I'll admit I was never a consistent starter. Got three consecutive State Titles from it though.

Now I play intramurals and pick up games here and there...I'm incredibly out of shape though...like 5 good minutes and I'm done til the 2nd half out of shape

my best offer from islano was dependent upon me scoring goals @ $200/goal.
Then I went to my game and didnt even get off the bench.
bye bye islano for me.

Played since I was very young. Won the U14 rec state championship in Mississippi. Played select and high school ball. Played at Pearl River Community College after high school and finished my second season there ranked top 25 nationally in points, actually.

Since then, just mens league ball and play in a really awesome mens indoor league in Jackson, MS while I finish up grad school.

After PDL, the top Islano team offered me $500 a game. I declined. I didn't want to get into that mess.

Should have done it- that is easy money. Plus the goalies don't have to deal with all the field bs.

I feel like everyone has these ridiculous stories about getting paid per goal, or per game. What's up with that??? And where was I when these deals were being made
