What worries me most is the Portuguese mindset. They will know going into their game that they will need a big win and a result in our game to even have a chance to go through. If Ghana come out and score first, this would be a huge blow to Portugal. If the game is tight in the second half, Portugal will have little to play for and Ghana all to play for. A defeated Portuguese mindset could potentially lead to a Ghana win by a lopsided score line and If the US actually end up needing a result from that game, this is what worries me most.

Keep in mind that Portugal knows they need to win big to advance, which means they could be playing in a more offensive mindset to get the goals, but leaving the defense vulnerable. If they don't score and Ghana capitalizes on their counters, this could be big trouble for the U.S. if we lose.

... agreed, added to that "total goals scored" is the 2nd tiebreaker, so a 3 or 4 goal performance from Ghana would not be easy to overcome if we lose.

I am not worried at all. I trust us to stay close or draw, and I trust Portugal to get a result.

All we really needed from that match was a draw and we got it. The only tough part was how it happened.

Just because Jozy got injured, abd Besler was tight doesn't mean we can't handle the heat better than Germany.

Pity Germany didn't beat Ghana, ww would be all but thru.

Fatigue will be a major factor, for sure.

It will be interesting to see how Ghana play without Muntari.

The graphic they just showed on ESPN was exactly what I was talking about.

Results after playing a game in Manaus.

Italy, lost to Costa Rica 0-1
England, lost to Uruguay 1-2
Croatia, lost to Mexico 1-3
Cameroon, lost to Brazil 1-4

This shite scares the hell out of me. Worried about our guys having nothing left in the tank come the 70th minute.

According to Roberto Martinez, who I have a lot of respect for, we are the fittest team at this World Cup and he is more concerned about our mental fragility going into Thursday more than physical.

JK is a fitness psycho, it has been a point of emphasis ever since he got here. Under his leadership we are and will continue to be one of the fittest teams on the planet. Let's just hope it's enough for a point on Thursday.

Our national team has always been incredibly fit even before Jurgen.
