How much better on paper was Arsenal than the scrubs they played against today?

Like LSU vs Vandy comparable?

I know as much about soccer as I do about women's lacrosse.

Much more competitive.

More like an NFL game, where either team could win.

City and Man U are above everyone right now, with Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle, and Tottenham in the next group.... the talent between those two groups is not overly significant.... City has DEEP pockets so they get everyone they are targeting basically.... Man U has the draw of tradition and a winning culture right now, so they get great players too, as long as they aren't trying to outbid City for someone....

after those two groups, the talent is there in spurts, or in the form of one or two players, at most, on other clubs, so the drop off is pretty large, but it seems that the smaller teams play "up" to the competition in regular EPL games, or the bigger teams play "down".... either way, there always seems to be a game that matches a big name team vs. a small club, and it's a draw, or something like that, when on paper the big club should run right through the small club....

Sunderland is a midtable team with a decent-to-above average coach, so they're more comparable to South Carolina. Usually beaten by the big dogs, but definitely capable of holding or defeating any team on any given day.
