He deserves it. He's going to have ten straight seasons of ten or more goals. In four of the last six seasons he's posted both 10+ goals and 10+ assists, and in the two seasons he didn't post that double double he scored 25+ goals.
He's effective from anywhere across the front line, magnificent just behind the striker, excellent as a lone striker, and works his tail off for the team. He might be a count sometimes but I would gladly take him. He's underrated in terms of discussions of the best players in the world because his game seems so brutal, but he's elegant in his own way. I enjoy watching him play in general though.

his people really held United over the barrel. they absolutely needed to keep him and he's going to be making ridiculous bank. if the 300k/wk reports are true that's a lot of scrilla to pay a guy who will be in his 30s for the majority of that contract.

It's a ton of money but he deserves it. He's acted like a count a few times but these days, not many haven't. I'll be glad for him to see out his career at United.

Invest all of our money in attacking mids and strikers.
Soon the defense will just be a flailing Phil Jones playing sweeper behind Carrick and Fletcher.
ETA: FWIW, I'm really happy to see him stay, but that's a lot of money for a guy his age.
