I don’t think we’ll find out if Aguero’s case was vaccine related, but I personally know two people my age (28-31, one was a nurse) who got the thing and developed blood clots shortly after. One was my stepsister. She isn’t even working anymore because of whatever the hell happened.

I think there is likely some merit here in some but not all situations as would probably be expected, but the outright cover up and hey that isn’t relevant talking point is pretty crazy.

I know it’s not a likely occurrence, but I’ve had Covid and will not be taking the vaccine for the time being solely because Covid was a loss of taste and that’s it.

Damn that sounds terrible.
I’m sorry to hear that you’re going through that. No one should ever have to go through they. I pray that she’s able to work again

I agree with you that it’s probably not discussed enough. I think this is one of the many reasons why vaccine mandates are the wrong way to handle this. Even some major hospital systems have pulled back on mandating their employees get vaccinated due to people quitting and the increasing costs of labor as a result.

This study looks at the relative risk of certain types of blood clots after getting the AstraZeneca shot, the Pfizer shot, or coming down with Covid 19. It was a very robust study of 29 million people vaccinated. Without a doubt there is an increased risk of thromboembolism with the shots studied. There was a several fold increased risk of these events if you actually got the virus compared to getting the vaccine. Overall the risk of the vaccine is low but not negligible and should be discussed more openly imo. I think it comes down to risk/benefit. For someone like McCaigbro the risks of a clot might outweigh the minimal risk of serious illness from the virus. For grandma, however, she should probably get the shot unless she’s healthy as a horse but has a clotting disorder. In the end there needs to be an open conversation about risks/benefits with patients that probably isn’t happening when people walk into Walgreens to get poked and certainly not being publicized by Biden, Fauci, et al.

Genuine respect. I worked two summers in college being a night shift orderly in a large city trauma center. Trauma center docs and nurses really are some outstanding people.

I’m also a firm believer that every single young person should work a real shitty (literally) hospital job at some point. It will either soften you with some real compassion for your fellow man or single you out as a real sociopath for authorities to monitor.

Thanks man. And I agree wholeheartedly. My sister is very liberal. Blames certain groups being unsuccessful on society in general rather than individualistic/cultural behaviors. I wish she could have worked a shift with me in the large trauma center where I trained in residency. We had one night where seven gun shot victims came in. Our city is about 50/50 population but the shooters/those shot were all of one demographic, and that was the case for the entirety of my training (except for one white victim of a drug deal gone bad).

See, vaccine induced heart attacks aren't that serious, everyone just take the shot!
