I have a friend that works in Finance that sent me this last night:
quote:

Got this deal teaser today: We are currently working on an excellent opportunity to acquire an English Premiership football team which I wanted to highlight to you. Our client produced £25m+ EBITDA this season, has no debt, holds a squad value of £180m+ and owns their stadium and training facility. They have also secured a highly competitive shirt sponsorship deal.

Just need £185mm and it's ours!

He said he needs to sign an NDA to find out what club.

Is it Palace?
LINK

That seems to be the one that checks your boxes/close to them

Newcastle would be worth more and doesn’t own their ground

Much smaller numbers but City bought a team in Australia and then sold Aaron Mooy to Huddersfield for 10X what they paid for the club.
And still own Melbourne City

We could probably realistically buy a minority stake in Leeds.

I thought I heard the owner wanted 350 million or something like that for Newcastle. This other club sounds like a bargain.

I’m not sure what it would entail, legally, but it would be badass if 20 of us or something threw in some cash to buy a minority stake in some club. Even if it’s a lower tier side.

We need to start our own club. Get in the 8th division of the pyramid. TYFYS FC.

If I was rich I would definitely look at buying a lower tier club
