I'm just curious what you've seen of Sargent for both club & country that has you picking him.
Oh man after the past 9 days I’m not sure I’m ready for the tough questions or to show my work.
The main reason is lack of other options so I will go with the guy I perceive to have highest upside.
Otherwise I think Sargent has the most complimentary game to pair with pulisic/Reyna who I see as the primary goal scorers/creators on the US best 11. I think more than any other current option (Zardes/Hoppe/etc) he has the best ability to distribute off his hold play and has the best feel of how to open up space with his runs for the other attacking players. If pulisic and Reyna aren’t playing I might want zardes or Hoppe out there as I do think they may be better pure individual goal scores.

Also Zardes -- pass.
He's our best striker right now.
Good indicator of what the problem is ...

If you surround Zardes with talent, he's FINE.
It's ugly as hell, but he does make good runs, works hard and always finds the right spot in the box. Now, when the ball gets to him, he's going to smash it in with the side of his face, his arse or his knee - but it'll go in the goal.
There's something to that, like it or not.
