Death lineup

Dest-MRob-Zimmerman-Arob
-———-—Adams
———Mckennie-Musah
——Reyna-Weah-Pulisic

If we ever see this team at 100% health watch out

Why do you think Weah is a better striker than Pepi?

He can't cross the ball to himself.

And Dest may yet have something to say on the wing rotation.

Why?

We're already borderline elite at wing and our RB depth chart has a lot of guys, but none that, right now, really instill confidence if they are replacing Dest there.

Speed, dribbling, strength, ability to create dangerous chances out of nothing.

Right above that statement I list who I think should get wing minutes this cycle and it doesn’t include Dest. No question, our wing depth is > than our FB depth and Dest is best deployed for us as a FB atm.

However, Dest is currently being deployed by Barca as a winger. If that position change is permanent you can unequivocally replace borderline elite with just elite if the starting wings are Pulisic and Dest. And if that position change is permanent the reality may be Dest isn’t going to improve his ability to actually defend as a FB over the next year.

You just described a winger.

You trust him to get you a goal more than Pepi at the 9?

Currently we don't know where Dest will be deployed as there is a new manager and he has not played Dest due to injury.

And Dest is a decent bet to be sold by Barca in one of the next two transfer windows. There are a lot of unknowns. But Dest is dripping with offensive quality and if I were a betting man I’d bet he spends more of his club career further up the field than on the back line.

It’s not too uncommon for fullbacks to change positions into wingers. Bale started out as a left back

There has been speculation about this ever since he first got there. Has anything else come up to make it look like it’s happening? If he leaves I’m hoping he goes to Bayern to be honest.

I don’t know. Pure guess from my perspective that Barca will sell high if they can on a few players in a year they likely won’t qualify for the champions league.

Given his age and assuming the starts are there at Barcelona, I’d rather see Dest just stay put Barcelona for a couple years.

But yea, seeing Dest at Bayern would be amazing.

A Rob does a good job attacking from the wings, but he was a serious liability at defense last night. I am not sold that he is the solution.

The metrics say otherwise.

His recovery runs were great, considering how much he was attacking. The dude is tireless. Only Adams won more duels than him yesterday.

I honestly think he’s the most athletic player on the team. Dude’s a freak. Also seeing him with his hand over his heart belting out the anthem was great

He's chaotic as hell because his first touch can be like a tank at times, but then out of nowhere he will dribble around you with a slick touch and his speed like he did on that late run that nearly led to a Ferreira goal. He puts in good crosses too.

I also love how he basically wears ankle guards instead of shin guards.
