Beckerman will be in front of Edu.

Beckerman's passing is sufficient if Bradley is there. If he's supposed to be the linkup between defense and our strikers, oy vey!

He was good at breaking up play in the Mexico game and picking out good passes. Unfortunately Jones, Donovan and Torres were abysmal that game, which compounded our possession problems. The only decent scorings chances came on the goal and the awkward tackle-cum-shot from Beckerdreads.

Extremely important edit:

Scratch what I said

Diamond #usmnt midfield: Dempsey at point, Beckerman deep, Jones and Edu on corners.

I'm comfortable with him breaking up play making a short pass. It's the other roles of a DLP that gives me a fearection

Edu is not good in that role. WTF Jurgybear?

Don't like at all. No creativity. Why the hell Lichaj isn't starting over Parkhurst?

Yea it makes no sense. We need more wide midfielders. Where Bedoya or Mix. Give someone a chance.

I don't mind the diamond with the players we have available. The only problem is you need the fullbacks to attack and give some width and Parkhurst isn't exactly an attacking RB. Johnson can do it on the left at least.

One thing I've learned.....don't ever think he meant anything. He will shock you.

Against Jamaica's speedy wingers, it makes sense to put counter with fast, defensively sound midfielders.

Klinsmann is hedging his bets on Beckerman recycling possession and the forwards dropping in to get on the ball more than we've seen with the USMNT lately.

We are playing with 3 midfielders who provide little to nothing going forward. Jones can do a little as he is more of a box to box type but the other two are straight defensive mids.

I wonder if Gomez will drift to the right a bit, we just look like we'll be really narrow on that side. There obviously are a lot of defensive players in the middle, but we could end up with a lot of the ball through a combination of overloading the middle and Jamaica's kind of shitty central midfield.

A lot depends on Dempsey, obviously.

Yeah, stay narrow, have Clint bridge the midfielders and forwards.

Jamaica is a dangerous team at home but not a team that should ever beat us if we stay compact and organized.

I think I'd actually rather have Zusi in the game than one of those 3.. at least he has some small amount of skill creatively/going forward.
