Good result from Uruguay. They came out to get the draw and got it.

Govou should have scored on that cross from Ribery earlier. This ref made sure this game would be slow and uneventful. The early card to Ribery completely changed the shape of this game.

entertaining match for a draw.

i was frustrated for the french - i don't really like inferior teams clogging out a tie (unless its USA).

Did anyone else think Gourcuff really looked like shite? Didn't seem to really bring Ribery into the game and it seemed like he was content trying to launch balls from 30 yds...thought Malouda should have been brought on much sooner

I'll say it. Outside of the first 20 minutes, Ribéry was completely useless out there.

He was good in parts, bad in others. His passing in the second half was very poor.

Ribery just seemed isolated to me...constantly left to take on 3 defenders and when he did no one helped him. Gourcuff's last touch said it all...came over to get Ribery out of jail and then instead of redistributing he just blasted one into the crowd. What a mess

French verdict: Defensively they were very good. Forlan's chance after the throw in was the only real danger. Gourcuff needs to stop reading his own headlines. Ribery needs to learn that he can still try after he's been given a card. Govou looked completely out of it most of the match. Diaby was close to worthless. Anelka was out of position for most of his time on, although he was giving 100%. Toulalan probably had the best game for France. I foresee a complete demolition of Mexico.

Hes soft...at least Toulalalalan becomes the agressor when battling for possession.
