Our World Cup hopes and dreams come down to a soggy field in Trinidad televised on beIN.

Oh... and there's this

I know, I usually wait a little later in the night to start these, but I saw the Pulisic news and just figured I'd open the match thread with that.

I’m hoping that’s just gamesmanship, but he had a heavy gimp after the game. I also hope #11 gets cut down by some narcos. Concacaf is a joke and something must be done. Punches to the gut, kicks to the dick...fricking bush league.

Will any of our channels from south of the border be broadcasting this? Hoping to avoid giving my computer AIDS trying to watch this game.

NBC Universo is also televising it, but I feel like if you get that, then you probably get beIN too.

He's a tough kid. I'll be surprised if he isn't starting tomorrow. We really missed Jermaine Jones on Friday to put the fear of God into #11 for Panama for trying to hurt Pulisic.

Check Univision. They streamed the 2015 World Cup for free.

No way of knowing that yet... he can very easily make his way back, especially if the competition is just McCarty, Acosta and maybe Mckennie.

I meant like we missed 2013 Jermaine Jones, who was the closest thing we've ever had to a "hardman". He would be perfect to keep Pulisic protected. Without him, Christian has to be careful of all these clowns that come in trying to stomp him.

Current Jermaine Jones is too slow for the international level at this point.

Didn't stop Brad Davis from starting against Germany...

Tyler Adams is playing better than Jones is right now.

Jones will be 36 next summer (and not a young 36). In his last 9 games, he's had 6 yellows, 1 straight red (in the 39'), and 1 assist. Hasn't played for the national team since March. I just don't see him coming back.

Williams has a better chance of making the WC roster than Jones.

If he goes to Russia, it'll be as Yedlin's backup

Maybe, but I don't see him being any further down the CM depth chart than Jones. Jones is too much of a liability at the international level right now. If someone is going to make a mistake, I'd rather it be a young player. I have low expectations for this WC anyway. More youth, the better.

Jurgen tried that with Brooks, Bacon, Green, Mix and Yedlin... and while two of those panned out to great affect, three of them aren't even remotely in the picture anymore.

You take your best players, regardless of age, it's stupid to try and play the 2022 World Cup in 2018.
