Talent wise, I see Gil roughly where Holden was when he was with the Dynamo - with a couple of exceptions:
Gil became a pro earlier than Holden did, Gil has a little more "sizzle", Holden was a better defender.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always saw Holden as more of a Michael Bradley type player.

I don't know if I'd say that Real Salt Lake Luis Gil has "sizzle." He's a very intelligent player who has had a very good start to this season, but there won't be too many YouTube highlight videos of his play.

i don't think it is Klinsy being a dick, i think he knows what he has in Donovan and just wants to see what Davis and Zusi do.

No reason to do that. I think Donovan, Dempsey, and Bradley have not played together since 2012.
I am happy about the 4-4-2. Even though two strikers is not really used in the modern game, I think it will help Jozy significantly. Have not thought much about it until recently, but could it look something like this?
