We're going to lose to Martinique, aren't we?

They've played a hell of a match.

I still expect the US to win, but...

Don't be surprised if it's an ugly one.

If we lose to Martinique I'll start a Fire Bruce thread just like I did for Jurgen after the loss to Jamaica in 2015

Well on the brightside, Dwyer looks like he should be a permanent call-up.

After reflection, most of our players were not good.

Guzan- 8.5- had a couple but time saves, and the goal was definitely on the defense. Had just made a great save and got no help. Big saves, especially on the the early bending chance.

Villafana- 6- better attacking, but total dogshite defending. Got beat so many times. But, his forward play saves his rating. Will get brutalized by decent teams on defense

Omar- 4- looked out of it all day. Got beat on headers, passes were way off, and was culpable on multiple chances. Not a good day. Goal was partially on him.

Besler- 7- solid outing. Made a few big stops on breakaways. Only got beat really one time, and it didn't amount to anything.

Zusi-4- not a right back. Gets caught a lot. Lucky they weren't going at his side more

Dax-3- terrible. So many giveaways. Nothing good.

Acosta-2.5- bad. Just bad. All day.

Bedoya-5.5- typical bedoya showing. Actually had a few solid attacking runs.

Rowe-7- took a little while to settle in, but became one of the better performers. Assist was pretty awesome going 1 on 2.

Corona-1- was he even on the field?

Dwyer- 7.5- largely absent due to lack of service, but made the best out of what he got. Held up well a few times, scored on his only real chance, and made good runs. Looked too much for fouls rather than playing strong. Concacaf don't give those weak fouls.

Agudelo-7- pretty solid outing imo. Saw the creativity, showed his positional flexibility. Touch was heavy, but a mature performance.

Zardes-5- brought some solid energy, but not really anything exciting.

Morris-n/a- not enough time to do anything.

Overall: poor performance, especially on defense (minus besler and guzan).

Did you confuse Gonzalez and Besler on the field? I thought Omar was pretty decent and Besler was garbage

I'm certain. Did you watch Gonzalez in the first half? He had to change shoes during the water break at 30'. His passes were like 10 yards wide of their target. He was at fault for most of the chances Panama had...including the goal. Made one good stop on a through ball that could have been called a pen by a weak ref. Was not good.

Didn't watch but wtf is Zusi playing RB for. He has no future at that position. He shouldn't even be on the field.

Re-watching the game, Omar and Besler both had decent games considering how many times Dax and Acosta hung them out to dry. The Total Soccer Show guys also made a good point though that there was plenty of times where Gonzalez was either the furthest guy up on the back four or the furthest guy back... he hardly stayed in sync with backline.

I thought Zusi had a much better second half than first, making many good runs forward in support. He also made a couple of solid tackles in 1v1 situations, including one where he was the last defender at midfield on a corner.

My opinion may have been effected by my imminent heat stroke, though.

Dax had a BadBeckerman-esque game. He and Corona were the most disappointing to me.

I think Acosta was for me, just because he is probably the most talented player on this team and hurt the team more than helped.
