Fulham ink Swiss U21 international and former Palermo midfielder Patjim Kasami. Solid signing. Only 19, but will have a big place in the side for the future.
Second young central midfielder signed in the last couple weeks, along with Marcel Gekov
Indeed.

N'Zogbia is a nice signing for Villa. They need to buy more with that Young/Downing money though.

Barcelona confident in their efforts of securing Cesc Fabregas
I'm a 100% sure we won't allow it to drag on that long. If Cesc goes we need to find a replacement, which takes time.

So Barca, the best club in the world, will likely have added the most exciting young attacking talent in the world (Alexis Sanchez) and the best midfielder in the EPL (Cesc Fabregas) to their club in the offseason without losing anyone of note.
That sucks.
That sucks.

That's why no one can complain about Real Madrid.

So has anyone seen much of Kasami? Maybe WM knows more about him. Hopefully he's a long-term Murphy replacement.

It would be impossible to replace him due to his time in Wegner's system. Ramsey isn't quit ready IMO. Who would you buy to replace him?

They weren't borrowing money to pay for salaries last summer. I hate Barca as much as Chelsea and Man City. Add PSG to the fricking list. Barca is the most hypocritical club in the world.

Malaga and Anzhi Makhachkala will soon be in these ranks as well.

Man Utd and Bayern tracking 18 year-old Lucas

quote:
Ribeiro told Terra: "Lucas was approached earlier this year by Manchester United and Bayern Munich."
The young midfielder is widely expected to have a big future and, with United in the market for a replacement for Paul Scholes, could prove to be the right solution. However, reports suggest that Sao Paulo will not let their star player leave for anything less than £72 million.

This is why Moneyball soccer has a rule about staying away from Brazilians.

Unreal? The global real estate market is in a tail spin and Spain is the next Greece. 72mm? What is Messi worth? 200mm Euros?

David Goodwillie's rape charge was dropped. Expect him to go to Cardiff or Rangers.

i wonder how much some of these recent (past few years), outrageous valuations have to do with the pound being bent over by the euro
Posted on 7/25/11 at 10:11 pm to glassman
I don't know how they could realistically ask for that with a straight face.

Probably a combination of that, and teams not really wanting to lose their star players. Ronaldo and Kaka really jacked up the market. Torres fricked it this year. There are literally 5 teams that could pay that type of money for various reasons, and all would be sustaining a loss. Good teams are always bankrolled, but it's gotten to the point where it's not even enjoyable to follow.
