Hopefully Meireles will follow Aqua out the door. Liverpool should get 10-12M for him while they can.

Vidal confirms he's going to Juventus. I'm on my phone or I'd post the Soccernet link.

Edit: also in the article is a great quote from Hoeness on South American agents.

Well...

16.01: It seems Liverpool will most certainly be drowning in a sea of central midfielders come the new season. “Aquilani will definitely stay at Liverpool,” agent Franco Zavaglia told Radio Mana Mana. “Alberto has gotten over his ankle problem and has all the qualities he needs to regain his place in the national team and do well in the Premier League.”

ETA Now Cole and Meireles need to go.

Uli Hoeness doesn't bite his tongue. I agree with him though.

President Uli Hoeness told Bild: "He has broken his word. But as a South American player's agent was involved I had no great hope. Their words usually mean something else.''

I'd be fine jettisoning Sturridge.

that's a mistake. He is a young guy with alot of potential. He should definitely be on the ENT soon enough.

We dont need to pay Cole those high wages...so, bye bye...

With our abundance of CMs, and Mierles' age and current value...I believe he is the one to go. More so, if the rumors of us now needing to sell to spend are true...

Meireles was one of the only people that showed any quality last year before KK took over

ETA: basically before suarez arrived

Panic buy due to the Europe deadline. He'll play a couple meaningless matches then be sold.

Who does he displace?

ETA: He's not going to start ahead of Naismith, Davis, McCulloch, Ortiz, Ness, Fleck, or Edu

ETA2: Hell, even Laughatme will start ahead of him

Hell if I know, but this has been in the works for a at least a week, per Ives, so that means there's been background work for a few weeks prior, so I'd hardly call it a panic buy. The talent evaluators obviously find lots of value out of 'muricans. He may not be an immediate contributor, but I don't think it's far fetched that he will find a place out of incremental skill increase or injury substitution. Kyle Bartley, Arsenal loanee immediately started for Rangers and he's under 20, I believe. They can use youth.

We have too many mids. Meireles is old, still has resale value, and doesn't fit in the plans. Get money for him while you can.

So, Bedoya, Lee Wallace, and Murray Davidson are Der Hun's pre-Europe signings.
