Both of those things are true.
Verts still has 4 years on his contract, I think he just doesn't want to get tied down more before he knows what direction the team is going in.
That being said, he was the only player that was truly good yesterday and he needs to play against the gooners. Both for our chances and for his happiness.

Normally I'm excited for the NLD, but I have a really bad feeling about Saturday. Maybe that's a good thing though.

I'm perfectly fine with him not signing another contract right now he has plenty left. I don't think that means he doesn't want to stay with Tottenham in the future.
