We looked amazing in the first half. Paulinho is a god with the ball at his feet, and it feels so good having a real striker in Soldado. He scored on a PK when Danny Rose was fouled in the box. Rose looked horrible other than that. BAE is a better left back, but he was not suited up, so he may not be on the team for much longer.

Spurs played very well but fell asleep on a corner in the 44th minute. It was 1-1 at halftime. The second half seemed largely uneventful.

Just watch any match you can when you have the time. Last season was the first full season of the EPL that I followed so I would catch a match any time I could. If I couldn't watch it, you can find good information on this site or over at reddit. A lot of stuff posted here is originally posted on that site.

I really like Cartilage Free Captain for a quick biased synopsis of rumors as well.

Well I set my Dvr to record I believe four Spurs matches from last years season. They will be coming on Fox Soccer and I believe NBCS ,if anybody cares ,between now and next Sunday. I do think it may be a waste to watch these games to learn about the team seeing as 5/6 players from last year won't be starting come game time against crystal palace this weekend. Although I'm still excited to see them in action from last year seeing as I apparently missed the best season in team history in terms of point total achieved in a season?

Yeah last year was the most points we've had, but arsenal had a terrific second half of the season and got 4th over us.

I would watch the games to see their style of play plus I think the majority of them will be starting initially until the new guys have gelled.

The lineup I want for crystal palace is:

Lloris
Walker Dawson sexJan (if healthy) rose
Paulinho dembele
Lennon siggy Bale
Soldado

Those kill me. My favorite may have been that used all the terrible nicknames for AVB and described how we were basically holding Bale hostage.

I would approve but that's not going to happen. You are picking a rough time to become a Spurs fan, there has and will be plenty of rumors like that until the transfer deadline with Bale, but a lot of them are just BS from "sources".

I'm watching the Tottenham @ Man U match from last year and I just had to say good god Gareth Bales goal was awesome running straight down the pitch with his defender looking helpless as he ran 40yds to get the goal!

That was an awesome game!

It made it even better that one of the guys I was watching it with was a united fan. His tears were delicious

I watched our second match against them with a United fan. He was being really nice because even he could see that Spurs had outplayed his boys. He went from nice to furious when Dempsey scored the late goal though.

Man league matchs just look different than what I'm use to, which is USMNT playing. It just looks smoother, harder and faster. You can't blink during the EPL games I've been watching, where I feel like in international matches you can go fix a sandwich an you won't miss much ?

ESPNFC article on what Spurs need to do to have a successful season.

I am definitely worried about the inability to defend corners and the lack of creativity in the midfield. Last season, we seemed to just wait for Bale to do something spectacular. Hopefully, that will change this season.
