Moved into my apartment today... just realized my new roommate is a Man United fan.

This game is just a series of counter attacks. No midfield play at all

Barca not having the name on the back of their jerseys is really throwing me off.

How did I not know that Cameron Carter-Vickers was the son of Howard "Hi-C" Carter until now?

Arthur had himself a nice debut goal for Barca

quote:Pep quote after their games
#PEP: You cannot imagine how much I have enjoyed these two weeks with these guys. The young guys have desire. They open their eyes and listen because they have their whole career ahead of them. I want to say thank you to them. #mancity
quote:Klopp quotes after the game
Yes, all the young boys who came on today are in really good shape this pre-season, to be honest. They had little holes because of the intensity.
“Sheyi [Ojo] is a really confident boy as he showed tonight, not only around the penalty when he sent Daniel Sturridge away! You have to be really confident to do that!
“Pedro Chirivella in the No.6, a fantastic football player. Marko Grujic together with him organising the whole pitch pretty much.
“Curtis Jones played his first game as a full-back in front of 100,000 people – I would have been nervous, he wasn’t. Rafa Camacho plays a pre-season that is just fantastic, mostly as a full-back which he’d never played before, so they’ve learned a lot.
“Ben Woodburn is 100 per cent back, for example. How it is with young boys, from time to time the improvement doesn’t go day by day, but he has played such a good pre-season.
“Nat Phillips, my god – what a pre-season he has played! These boys are completely open. What we will do with that and when, we will see.”
quote:And Jose quotes after the game
“We started the game with a lot of players who will not be in our squad on August 9. This is not my squad, not even half, not even 30% of my squad. So don’t look to this.
“Look, do you want him to be very happy with the players he [Alexis Sanchez] has around him? We are here just to survive and to have some not very ugly results.

O dear lord Jose isn't happy a majority of his squad isn't there. The horror.
He also said many times this tour he is happy with how the young players have preformed. But what ever fits your narrative
The best part is Jose has played academy players more than Klopp and Pep

So you're truly ok with the way he's talking about his players right now? You're truly happy with him shitting all over them instead of trying to make them better?
Kids need confidence to grow. Not sure how you get much confidence from that.

Hes not happy his first team isn't there, you are looking way to much into this

Jose has given the kids chances in the games, and some have preformed. Who knows what he says to them behind the scenes. But by all means shite on Jose for nothing despite the fact he plays academy grads more than Klopp.
Its a non story/issue you are trying to fabricate into one.

quote:Maybe he has more academy grads available that are worth playing? Klopp has a hell of a record developing talent and making players better. Not just academy grads, so I'm perfectly ok with the way he's developed our players, as well as what he did while at Dortmund. Jose didn't do shite for his academy players at Madrid or Chelsea so let's not try to turn him into a godsend for youth development.

C'mon... now is when you post the contrasting quotes with Clyne leaving training for his newborn and Martial doing the same..

Jose isn't at Chelsea or Madrid anymore. He's at a club with a tradition of playing youth that he is expected to maintain. The young players he has put out there have preformed. Since Jose came to United he's done better playing youth than Klopp at Liverpool, don't get upset over it.

Jose is a tough love manager at the end of the day. Some people respond to it some don't. Just like some respond to positive reinforcement nonstop and some let it get to their head and think their shite don't stink and then preform worse.
