He hits on some things but he's also a "high volume" rumor guy . . . perhaps he jumps the gun to report deals have been reached when it's more just at the point of some mutual interest being expressed.
The 3 year contract seems unbelievable--unless it's one that would only renew after each season if Skrtel would become a full time starter-- like Cole and Maicon had.
However, I could see Roma being interested in Skrtel (or some veteran for cover that fits his price/experience profile).
Our CBs are currently:
Manolas
+ Rudiger (injured for 5-6 months)
+ Castan (never has returned to form after brain surgery)
+ Zukanovic (may stay but still as 4th choice and late defensive sub)
Roma will likely bring in 2 CBs soon:
one CB in the Rudiger/Manolas mold of young, upcoming talent but also another veteran for cover, especially since Rudiger will be out for the first few months.
Was Skrtel really bad this season?

Roma will very likely sign one veteran CB but it's going to be one that obviously realizes he comes in fighting for a spot with 1 or 2 young CBs that Roma will be pining hopes for the future on. . .
Roman ultras and skinheads would certainly love Skrtel though.

Yes, he was very bad this season... Lost his place to Lovren if that means anything... He was so bad, he convinced many of our fans that Lovren was actually good..
