I'll never understand how anyone that knows the game (klopp) does not see how Moreno is ALWAYS wrong side of his man. It's comical how he has not learned. He is good for a minimum of 1 frick up per game.
This will probably not be a popular opinion but what does Henderson actually do? Sure, he has a great work rate, but what else? His long range passing is ok, not great. I've never been a fan and I think the team has been missing a destroyer in the middle for way too long.
I'm not gonna bring upon a TL/DR, but until we get a more vocal leader in the back it will continue to be a cluster frick and they deserve everything that happens for not fixing the known issue forever.

I haven't been a fan as long as many of you, but from the get go, as a novice, I've always thought Henderson was shite. I thought he actually played well last year and surprised me, but I really don't think he's that good. He's a Milner level player and seems to have a fortified spot in our squad.

Y'all step back from the ledge. Two offsides goals (both with deflections), missing our best player, away on the first game of the season (always unpredictable).
The first half was a shambles, don't get me wrong. But lets not mail in the season quite yet. We can't draw any concrete conclusions from today. Not yet.

Yes the second was offsides under the new rules.
NCB said on air that they contacted the Premiere League officials association about it and they said flag should've gone up on the third goal. If you still want to disagree it was clear interference with the goalkeeper.
You also neglected to address the fact that both had deflections involved.

Lovren's play is impacted by the offsides player in that he had to choose whether to mark the outside man on our defensive left or the player who was in an offsides position more centrally. This is the crux of the new offsides rule, opening up the violation to offsides acts which impact a defenders decision making, and not just who touches the ball itself.
This is why its most frequently called when a player is in an offside position near a goalkeeper. It impacts a goalkeepers decision-making as a shot comes in, even if the offsides player never touches the ball. The same situation applies here in that the violation effects how Lovren defends the play.

Yeah, not hitting the panic button at all right now. I'm waiting to see how the first couple months play out before I start entertaining any expectations of outcome.

We can agree to disagree on this one. When they first came out with the new rule, I read a list of examples of violations under the new guidelines and a situation almost identical to this was listed. They are simply moving towards an interpretation that if you are offsides and in any way around or involved in the direct run of play, you are violating the rule.
All that is ancillary to the fact that we had some terrible luck in the goals we gave up today. There's no reason to jump off the cliff just yet.

It's pretty much all covered in this, "a player moving from, or standing in, an offside position is in the way of an opponent and interferes with the movement of the opponent towards the ball this is an offside offence if it impacts on the ability of the opponent to play or challenge for the ball; if the player moves into the way of an opponent and impedes the opponent's progress (e.g blocks the opponent) the offence should be penalised under Law 12." He didn't do that.
