Why not? I have wanted to see more of him since the second half of the Turkey game

Bedoya, Kljestan, or Torres?

I'd definitely be down for Torres, but he's hit a pretty poor run of form, and i"m not even sure he's in camp.

I don't even know if Bunbery will be fit for the summer. He should be tho.

I don't know if there is space for him on a Gold Cup roster tho.

I hope he is fit, I'm pumped about the Savior, Bunbery, and the rest to finally mesh (hopefully). I think we'll have another very competitive international team at the end of this summer.

I have no idea why I say Bunbery, when its Bunbury.

Its interesting. I don't know if the Gold cup is where you experiment with a lot of the rosters. I could see a lot coming off the bench.

Mix has shown a lot of promise but you can't put him over most of starting midfield. I'd say he is best prospect in the Mid, then Bedoya.

I honestly think defense is our biggest problem in the future. We need Timothy Chandler, Tim Ream and Omar Gonzalez to be BIG time. I think if Brek Shea becomes a CB, we will be f'ing stout for sure.

Jonathan Spector needs to be moved to the midfield. He has done pretty well in the Mid for West Ham. Bornstein brings the experience but that is about it. Maybe his stay @ Tigres will improve him and I hope so but I'm not holding my breath.

I have no idea why I said Turkey. I meant S Africa. All these friendlies this last year are blurring together in my mind.

ETA: His recovery time was 4 -6 weeks.

Jones Edu Bradley is a bad midfield trio. Edu would have to provide most of the impetus going forward, Bradley hasn't gotten good minutes in a while.

Stu was easily our best central midfielder in the last 365 days. frick. This sucks.

Mix, it's on you, big dog.

Agreed. Creativity is the key. Jones, Edu and Baby are all very similar players. Someone has to distribute.

[sarcasm]Don't we have some creative midfielder that scored a goal in the Turkish second division recently?[/sarcasm]

Bradley is not an attacking midfielder, neither is Holden really or Edu, and definitely not Jones. None of those guys are CAM in a 4-2-3-1.

Bradley, Holden and Edu could be box to box type central mids. But the only 4-2-3-1 type CAM's we have are Dempsey, or Mix or maybe Landon.

You don't have to have a Schneider or Ozil type to go with a 3 man central midfield though. We looked at our best in the World Cup with Jozy as the lone striker with Landon and Clint as attacking midfielders playing off of with him with Bradley/Edu/Feilhaber playing deeper.

Some of this is semantics. When I think of a real 4-2-3-1 its with an attacking playmaker type in the middle of the 3 man part of the midfield. We don't really have that guy except for maybe Dempsey. But a 4-5-1 still seems to be the best option to me. Holden is a key part of that though.

Bradley and Edu as the carilleros, Jones sitting deep and distributing, and Donovan/Dempsey on either side of Jozy. I preferred Stu over Edu, but this is our best bet. Only problem is the onus it puts on our fullbacks (or at least one) to give width. Of course, a passer like Ream out of the back can solve a lot of that by allowing the fullbacks to stay higher. Lichaj needs to be ready.

The ideal situation would be playing Clint on the left with an attacking left fullback providing width, because Clint may be listed as playing on the left for Fulham but he's basically a central attacking midfielder for them. I'm seriously trying to remember the last time he put a cross into the box for Fulham. It just doesn't happen.

So ideally we'd have a full back overlapping Clint and providing the width on the left side and putting crosses in.

But there's the problem. Defensively Boca might be the best option on the left but he's not a real attacking option there. Bornstein is more of an attacking option but everyone hates him. Although he was surprisingly decent in the World Cup.
