If we're switching Jones for Holden in our lineup, I'd consider that a problem. Would leave us with extremely little in the way of creativity and distribution in our midfield.
I agree 100%. Holden has been lights out for Bolton in that roll. We really don't have anyone like him. He is much better than Donovan at set pieces and corners.

holden is a two-way central midfielder now, like bradley
I am aware of this.
He's playing out of position for his club, and that's great and all.
I think Bob was going to move him out wide and let Dempsey go at it up top, which would make sense with his 10 goals in EPL and all.

And Stu is a much better passer.

Temporarily scrap the 4-2-3-1?
I think we should maybe permanently scrap it, It's been an absolute failure so far... but... If we were to do it with Clint as the CAM and Jozy as the striker it might see a lot more success with their relative ability to hold the ball up as opposed to say Robbie Findley working with Eddie Gaven.
With no Holden, I could definitely see us scrapping the 4-2-3-1 for a 4-4-2 with Agudelo and Jozy up top.

Yeah I was thinking overall tactics. I think the assumption pre-Jonny Evans was that this summer was going to be a Stuhawk feature presentation. Now I get the impression that this summer may be centered more around Jones.

If I had to guess Landon-Bradley-Dempsey are the three attacking mids and Edu-Jones in the back.

i don't know if he's playing out of position anymore

if chandler turns out well, i wouldn't mind seeing us in a 4-2-3-1 and cutting the cord on clint allowing him to start wide and roam
as of now, i also prefer the 4-4-2

It's either that or we go to a 4-4-2
Or Bradley decides to troll us with Kjlestan or Bedoya

Bob Bradley LOVES Bedoya. Hell he almost made the World Cup roster last year.
I'm interested to see how he develops

Could a 4-4-1-1 work with Dempsey and Altidore as FW and ST?

As well as a 4-2-3-1 would work, that just means Dempsey is further up the pitch.
Dempsey and Altidore are essentially the same player, but Dempsey has 7 or 8 years of polish.

In my opinion, I'd love to see.
Altidore
Agudelo
Donovan-Jones-Bradley-Dempsey
When Altidore is paired with a fast player, it's the bomb. Ala Altidore/Davies combo.

I have no idea what game you watch, but it isn't even close to what I do. They don't even come close to playing the same for either club or country.

It's really Bob's go to.
It works too.
With Bunbury paired with Agudelo.
If Jozy and Jaun can get some chemistry, it could be some trouble for opposing defenses.

FWIW. Mix is in the USMNT camp now too.

This I like. His experience is a bother, but his touch and vision are promising.

Mix could probably be the surprise CAM.
I'm not confident in what he'd do against a world power like Argentina, but I guess you don't find out until you try it.

I don't think you throw Mix into the fire right away.
Let him get some caps under his belt. You know he will come in the Paraguay game.

You hope so. Paraguay is a solid side, but I imagine that we're better.

Why not? I have wanted to see more of him since the second half of the Turkey game
