They have squad depth. We don't. Why?
because we have an incompetent man in charge. We wouldn't have a CB crisis if the idiot would've given Gabriel his chance. We don't play players in the correct positions.

It's all a moot point. My advice is to just quit caring until Arsene is gone. He's just destroying his legacy now

On top of everything, the officiating has really given us a brutal beating.

Officiating has been so deplorable lately.

I'm considering mailing it in for the rest of this season. It's frustrating to watch knowing at some point we're going to receive a terrible decision.

Chambers handball. Hazard soft penalty. Debuchy own & slip. Nothing for us in all of this. All of it changing ties. No way should we be playing like this against Nottingham but it doesn't abate terrible officiating

The Debuchy one in this game was a pen. (As well as the Hazard one IMO)

Shite decision on the double hit, however.

Not going to complain about officiating when we defend this stupidly.

We’re a dumb team. We are HORRIBLE without the ball. I don’t even invest emotionally anymore. Just watch to see some good attacking play and if there is none just turn it off and clean my house.

You can tell we never work on defending in training. That is straight up embarassing. One more year after this. I don't know if I can take it for long. Arsenal are sucking the joy out of soccer for me.

Arsenal won't be able to win major trophy for a long long time. The politics of the board are clear now after they signed Dortmund's scout. Even he said that the club expects from him in every transfer window to sign a new "Dembele." And why is that? So they can sell him for a good price and earn some extra money. I truly hate Wenger after the last couple of years, but the real problem is not him, it's the board.

Sure the board is a big reason why we are in decline but it's Arsene who is killing our chances. If you replaced Wenger with a competent manager we are easily in the top 4 mix and probably could push higher than that. Arsene buys the players, allegedly trains them, and sets them up to fail. The front office moves are positive and I think with the right hire we can get back to being a contender.

For a bit of positive news:
quote:

Arsenal academy prospect Xavier Amaechi has signed his first professional contract with the club on his 17th birthday.

The Nigerian, who joined the club's youth ranks as a 12 year-old in 2013, has netted five times in four outings for the Gunners' U18 side this season.

A statement on the club website said: "We would like to congratulate Xavier on his new contract and look forward to his continued progress at the club.”

You're probably right about that. But it's simple, if they want success they should have replaced him years ago. He hasn't got a big success over a decade.

I agree. They don't take a stand on anything as long as the money keeps coming in. A more competent board would have replaced Wenger a few years ago.

if we had a halfway strong willed board Wenger would've "stepped down" already this season. Just sucks when no one there cares about winning trophies and keeping our best players

Y'all have had the worst luck in regard to officiating out of any team in recent memory. Officials by and large have been an absolute shite show this year for every team, but you guys have definitely gotten it way worse than anyone else. You'd definitely still be in the FA Cup and would have at least 6 more points with even marginally fair decisions in your matches.

You're 100% right. Arsenal have bad results with top 6 teams this season, and i don't really think that the referees are quite responsible for their poor gameplay. Our defence is shite, so is our attack even the middle. Arsenal are struggling ever since Cazorla god injured and there's no good replacement for him in this moment in the club. Xhaka is a flop, so are our defenders. The team is poor and we need some fresh feet in there...

Looks like Coquelin is moving to Valencia. We need a central midfielder with defensive qualities big time. Doubt we address it until the summer. If this means Maitland-Niles takes his place them I'm all for it but then we have no cover at LB.

Valencia have agreed a £12m fee with Arsenal for Francis Coquelin.

I'll take it, but we need another CM or move AMN there. Nacho can be LB cover if we also sign a CB.

I've seen rumors of us perusing Malcom from Bordeaux.
