Liverpool just feels like a major city to me whereas Nola feels like a mid size city that punches well above its weight (like Newcastle)

Sunderland have been in serious trouble since the FA held us in limbo for over a month about potentially hiring big Sam. Nobody came in or out due to the uncertainty and we were left with 3 weeks to do all the summer business.

Then a more and more disinterested Ellis Short hires David Moyes.

Then we sell or loan anyone worth a shite after the drop and Short toyed with the idea of a sale all summer and backed out at last minute.

And we’re paying Jack Rodwell over 70£k a week to do nothing.

Coleman is a good manager but he is getting absolutely nothing from Short who is completely checked out. I mean we don’t even really have a senior striker on the entire roster at this point....despite trying to fend of relegation again. One of the reasons I find a lot of the bitching by fans on here about signing player x or player y funny. They may not be your top choice but at least they play the actual position. There have been multiple periods of time over the past few years where good old Sunderland just say frick it...we don’t need a RB or we should be good with two senior CMs on the squad....it’s downright maddening but kinda fun as hell at the same time.

The fans don’t give a shite when even 2 years ago you were getting 40k+ to watch a miserable team.

Someone will get a really good deal on a pretty big club with a huge fanbase and stadium with fantastic facilities/academy though. Just may have to get promoted twice in the process.

Sorry for the long winded rant baws.

Ellis Short now says he'll give the club away to anyone who wants to take on the debt

Around half of the debt, £69m, is owed to the London-based businessman personally and it is thought the billionaire may forego some or all of that figure as part of any deal. The balance of £68m is owed to Security Bank Corporation, which is owned by Guggenheim Partners, while interest payments are currently running at approximately £8m a year.

Not a bad deal if someone would run the club in an intelligent manner.

yeah if you could talk some of that debt down and defer other parts of it then it's a pretty good deal.

Liverpool is more like NOLA imo.

I found Dublin to be the most NOLA-like during my European travels.
