I cant believe people are actually seeing this as a "punishment" to LD. Never expect to get the armband. You earn that with hard work and dedication every single day. Nobody at any level is going to walk away from a team and then get the armband on his first game back. Especially over a guy who has played his arse off in an unfamiliar position for you over the last year to help fill the void. This is a reward to DMB and I like it.

Did anybody really expect Landon to be named captain? Beckerman was probably a more likely option.

Of course some people expected the best player in our country's history to be named captain. It's an almost meaningless tournament where we are fielding our 2nd teamers. Basically, the only story line going into it is that he is back on the team.

Ok. One half of a Confed Cup play-in game. My Bad. If it really meant anything, the roster wouldn't look like it does.
