Zenit St Petersburg are ready to appoint Carlo Ancelotti as Andre Villas-Boas' replacement, according to Russian outlet Izvestia.

The Portuguese, who has led the outfit into the knockout stages of the Champions League has announced his intention to depart Zenit at the end of the season due to family reasons, but the Italian is ready to step up and take his place.

Ancelotti, who has previously taken charge of sides such as AC Milan, Juventus, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, has agreed an initial two-year deal that is worth €16 million-per-annum - an increase of €500,000 on his contract at Santiago Bernabeu.

It is expected that Zenit will undergo a significant strengthening of their side if the 56-year-old joins, as he has previously indicated that he will only go to a club with a realistic hope of winning the Champions League.

So another Italian is going to Russia. Will he get stiffed on his wages as well?

Luciano Spalletti and Domenico Criscito love Zenit.

Any more baseless rumors you have?

Is it baseless that Capello was stiffed as the National coach? I'm just fricking with you. Have some thicker fricking skin.

Capello sucked and has nothing to do with Zenit.

Spalletti's kids play in Zenit's youth academy and he has a home in St. Petersburg.

I don't think anyone gives a frick about Capello.

Carlo will spend one day a week in Russia and six in Italy.

You are way too serious on here. The Russian league is a top 8 in the world, congrats. I get your fandom, but you don't have to throat frick the board with every post about a decent league.

Anzhi trained in Moscow and flew to Dagestan for games.

Don't care what Carlo does if he's Zenit's manager.

Celtic would be relegated if they played in Russia.
