As for Folarin Balogun, I’d love to see him have a couple of apps with the team, if he can be convinced to play with the US over England

I didn’t say he’s got a lot of minutes in the games with the USMNT.

he was on the team for 24 games in that time

He only got called up for that one camp which was two matches and he played in one.

He's decent and has potential, but there are more younger and more talented midfielders coming up through the pipeline.

Oops. You are correct. I was forgetting that it was just Senior call ups and added in the other call ups with the U-20 and U18 teams. He was still coming off the injury I referenced around that Gold Cup

Paxton Pomykal (midfielder) would have been there had he not had a major injury and long rehab. He was a regular call up before that and was getting some major European interest, especially from the Premier League. Now, he’s just getting back to full health and if he stays healthy, don’t be surprised to see him make the team if he regains his form: see next paragraph. Before his injury, he had a high work rate, fast, great touch and passes, strong on the ball, a straight up gadfly when defending, rarely loses 50/50 balls, and has great vision. Also, while rehabbing, he put some muscle on his frame. Son of former pro player.

I’m glad someone else shares my Pomykal love. His injuries have been really unfortunate. I thought he was the best player on the field in the U20 WC team that featured Weah, Dest, Mendez, and Richards. I watch a lot of FC Dallas and he is consistently the most intelligent and impressive player on the field. I’m glad the new coach is playing him centrally after he was wasted out wide by Luchi.
