Nah, things were unraveling before that.

Gregg's not as bad as some make him out to be, and yes, he was objectively great against Mexico post-COVID, but he should've never gotten a second cycle.

Correction, he never should have been fired/put on hold, for a 30 year old incident. If they were strictly going by record he would still be there.

History shows that second cycle national team coaches hardly ever work.

Gregg should've only been considered for a second cycle if he beat the Netherlands to make our first quarterfinal in 20 years.
