Team has set aside number 17 for the fans as a way of commeorating the inaugural season. Josef Martinez has always worn it, but was okay with changing after he heard the plan
I liked an idea I heard yesterday. Let the fans vote on who should get to wear it.

The problem with that is, what if the player wants to wear a certain number?

He can turn it down.

Or they can give a list of the players that would be willing to wear the number.

This would not go over well.

A list might work. I really like the idea of a number set aside for the fans though. Everyone can get it without worrying about their guy leaving. I'll probably get a 17 with no name on it.

And the first ever AUFC goal scorer is Yamil Asad.

Was at the game. Yamil Asad is a boss, was a threat every time he touched the ball. Josef Martinez looked good as well. The amount of fans wearing Atlanta gear was amazing, I wasn't expecting that many. They were loud and proud too. Can't wait to make it to a home game

I'll be there in the north end zone with the supporters groups, can't wait. I'm expecting it to be filled to capacity.
