Non soccer fan question

So my 16yr old is a huge soccer fan and his favorite team is Bayern Munich. I have been offered two free tickets for their game at Bank of America Stadium July 30. The seats are in sec 112 so they look like pretty good seats. My question is is this a legitimate game he would enjoy or just some glorified exhibition game. Thought about surprising him with the tickets if this is a legit game.

Bruh, go to the fricking game

I mean, yeah its probably a glorified exhibition, but its Bayern Munich. Not like he'll get too many chances to see them in person. Go to the game

It's just an exhibition preseason game, but unless you have a trip to Europe planned, this is his best chance to see them any time soon.

What do you mean when you say this?
It's a friendly, i.e. preseason, so no it won't have any meaning behind getting players some reps. That said, you will go down as a shitastically horrible dad if you don't take your son because a game "is not legit".

Just go...best chance to see the team unless you're bringing him to Europe.
And it's free...
And it's free...

He would enjoy it a lot. For sure go. Don't think twice about it

I apologize in advance if I am responding to a troll.
If your kid wants to see an international team, and you can easily go see that team, why the hell would you not go do this (regardless of sport)?
Particularly since the tickets are free.
While I'm single, I have never regretted taking my nieces and nephews to games to hang out, watch the game, and talk.

He would hate it. I mean who would want to go to a glorified exhibition between two historic clubs? Nobody
I tell ya what. I live an hour and a half from BoA and I'm willing to take them off your hands

It's an opportunity to see one of the world's most famous clubs in person. It's a no brainer.
If nothing else, go for your son's sake. Who knows, after the experience, you may appreciate it more than you realize.
ETA: Just to make it a little fun for ya...if you see Arjen Robben on Munich's team...point him out to any Mexican fans nearby. Jimmies will DEFINITELY be rustled.

Yea, I would still have to fly there so not exactly free. I just know if I was going to watch say the Panthers play my old highschool team I would not be exactly excited about it. I know exactly zero about either of these teams.

The game is Bayern versus Inter Milan. That's a really good game. It won't be at the level of a Champions league game (the only other place where that game could occur), of course. But it will be fun and worth watching for sure. Most of the big name players will play between 45-60 minutes .

Appreciate the input guys. Tickets are on the way. Should be a fun trip regardless of the game. Thanks

Bayern fans from all over the country will fly to this game.

It's meaningless because the result doesn't matter, but he would have a blast.
I would not go myself, but if I had free tickets and a 16 year old that wanted to go, I'd definitely do it.
Be prepared that some of the stars might not be there.

I guess you know a little bit about Bayern because of your son.
Inter is very good too (not Bayern good right now). They finished 4th in Serie A and are managed by former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini. They won a treble in the not too distant past (2010).

Inter hasn´t been good since the days of Luis Suárez.

Maybe the should hire Del Bosque.
