Ok, I was just clarifying. I think he had a couple of goals against Tunisia, too. I do agree, though, I'd be frustrated with him if I was Spanish.

Del Bosque, like many managers who have had success, may just be hesitant to change what he has suceeded with and is comfortable with.

True, but del Bosque's side is much more conservative than Aragones side, with mostly the same players. I think the addition of a second DM helps prevent the counterattack, but I'm not sure it helps their build-up. I think a big problem has arisen in defense, as with the injuries to Iraola and Puyol, Ramos had to move inside with Arbeloa at RB. Arbeloa is not a great RB, serviceable, but he doesn't provide the offensive width that Ramos did. It's also amazing to me that the country of Spain doesn't have any more options at CB that could push Ramos out to RB again. Javi Martinez would be a great option, but del Bosque is hesitant to change. Juan Fran might be a better option than Arbeloa. The double pivot provides central help to the D. It also helps with ball winning, as defenders can be more aggressive if they know they have cover. A single pivot system might not work in the same way, though the Spaniards might score more.

Whoever was talking about the compromising of the double pivot system through the introduction of Llorente, is correct.
Forget about the 4-4-2, Llorente is the man for the 4-1-4-1, but Marcos Senna is gone.
Spain misses Marcos Senna very, very much. A really, really underrated beast of a player.
There is no one of the destructive capability, field coverage, intelligence, clean, hard, respect inspiring tackling, and quality on the ball.
Busquets is a great destructor, and very, very good on the ball, but he couldn't pull off the single pivot responsibility, and we all know Alonso couldn't either.
As to the conspiracy,
, Angel Villar, Spain's Director of the football federation and VP of both the FIFA and UEFA, who is a horse's rear end and friend of Platini, is also an Athletic de Bilbao alum. He doesn't want Bilbao to lose Llorente as well as Javi M., hence no playing time for Llorente.
ETA Iraola. Ding, ding, ding. Arbeloa is OK for Ireland, but not for Portugal, Germany.
I don't know why Javi isn't plugged in at CB and Ramos moved to RB (yeah I know, he's dodgey at times, but Ramos is a loaded gun in the hand of a chimpanzee wherever he plays). Now, it's definitely too late, Vincent Of The Forest won't risk it.
