Yet their fan bases got bigger and bigger nation and world wide.

That's fine and an accurate comparison, but I don't think either sets are bandwagon fans... To me bandwagon fans are the ones who pick a team because they are "sexy" or winning or both.
The Steelers are a notorious bandwagon base, with people with no connection to western pa, northern wv and eastern oh.

My example would be the huge influx of fans seen by the Miami Heat after they signed Lebron and Co.
Thats more front running if anything
But it doesn't fricking matter in the states we are all bandwagon soccer fans.

Homey's definition of bandwagon is different than what is commonly accepted. That's why arguing with him about it is pointless.

Please you are a bandwagon Liverpool fan. Stop being so fricking self righteous. Liverpool is one of the most successful clubs in the world and won Europe with in the last 10 years.

Germans like it but really don't understand it that well
My German friend from Stuttgart is a huge Raiders fan and actually went to a game last year.
Speaking of England all three NFL games sold out super fast. You can only buy club seats now which are 300+ quid. But it does include a good arse seat, open bar for 5 hours, pregame tailgate and a buffet

It was damn near 20 years ago. They were one of the few teams on tv back the watching the champions league on espn2.
Along with Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. Any choice would be bandwagon.

yes keep ignoring your clubs history
claim ignorance and say your not bandwagon
I get it, its cool to say United, Chelsea, City, Arsenal are bandwagon but the cool hipster choice of Liverpool is not.

According to your definition, any fan that roots for a historically good club = bandwagon.

I would never DREAM of being a Man U fan. Eurotrip ruined that for me.
So what is up with stoppage time? How does it accumulate, and why do they never finish the last minute in its entirety, even in close matches?

Stoppage time is stoppage time. Instead of stopping the clock for injuries, free kicks, etc, they just make that time stoppage time.

Absolutely. Unless of course you have some other ties to the team.

OK. I had a suspicion that was how it added up, but the last minute of stoppage time kinda drives me nuts... Why not finish it? It almost seems the ref gets to make a subjective call of when a game is over, instead of a concrete finish time.

Well done, alter.

1). Where is a good, simple explanation of general penalty rules, as well as rules outlining when a game is able to be called over in stoppage minutes.
If there is a foul inside the bigger rectangle (called the 18 yard box), then a penalty is awarded by the ref who points to the spot (which is literally a spot 12 yards away the goal). The goalkeeper has to stay on his line until the ball is kicked. Then, a player (of the fouled teams choosing) gets a shot at goal that he converts usually about 80% of the time. Also, a yellow or red card may be issued in conjunction with the penalty. Or were you asking about a PK shootout?
Stoppage time is being all the time missed during the game due to stoppages such as injuries. The time lost is recorded and then approximately added on at the end of each half.
