The myth of the difficulty of UEFA qualifying grows every year.
There are some excellent teams in Europe, and some of the very worst in the world.
The bottom two teams in an UEFA qualify group are typically as bad worse than the bottom two teams in the CONCACAF final qualifying hexagonal. The USA and Mexico typically have a more difficult qualifying schedule than say a Greece or England, especially when the difficulty of earning any points on the road in Central American hellhole stadiums.
For example UEFA Group G:
Greece
Slovakia
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Lithuania
Latvia
Liechtenstein
Compare that to the probable CONCACAF hexagon group:
USA
Mexico
Costa Rica
Honduras
Jamaica/Guatemala
Canada/Panama
ETA: Granted only one team automatically qualifies out of an UEFA group, I'd take my chances in that UEFA group over finishing first in the CONCACAF group.

Countries that are definitely or almost definitely better in no order (I put a space after each five for easier counting):
Spain
Germany
Holland
Brazil
Uruguay
Portugal
Italy
France
England
Argentina
Countries that are a little above or near our level in no order:
Russia
Croatia
Greece
Belgium
Ivory Coast
Denmark
Belgium
Sweden
Chile
Ghana
I refuse to add Mexico to this list.

I kind of see the point about CONCACAF qualifying not being as easy as some say but I'd take it 10 times out of 10 over the chance that the USA beats out every one of these countries to ever make any WC field:
Russia
Turkey
Belgium
Ireland
Czech Republic
Bosnia and Herz.
Not one of those made the field out of Europe last time.

I can't remember who posted it but it was someone at the el Salvador game said t Boyd was crying when we didn't qualify, he's not goi anywhere. Kid loves the usmnt, couldn't be happier with him

I agree, but sadly Mexico is in their greatest generation of footballers in a while. They are pretty good. Go USA, frick a Mexico
